Wyoming Preps basketball fans will be watching the Wyoming Indian Lady Chiefs. They have their eye on the big prize this year. "Many of the seniors," warns Coach Aleta Moss, "are looking to win another state title. Most of them were on both State Championships teams in 2003 and 2004." Last year, the Lady Chiefs won their Conference for the sixth straight year, and won Regional against Lovell. They finished third in the state, losing the semi-finals to Tongue River. These girls are hungry and ready to take on their challenging conference. "Lyman and Wind River are new additions to our conference and should make it more competitive and interesting," says Coach Moss. Interesting, indeed. Wind River has it’s own team full of experienced returning players, and Lyman is again a force to be reckoned with this year. State-wide, Tongue River and Lovell are on Coach Moss' radar as teams to beat. And the Lady Chiefs have more than determination on their side. Having lost only one varsity player to graduation last spring, the team is looking at playing will all returning starters. Leading this group of experienced and talented ladies will be senior All-State and All-Conference player Diana Sounding Sides. Senior Little Shell Ware and junior Michaeleen Brown are All-Conference player who will be rounding off the strong leadership for this team. Other returning starters include Jacinta Edmo and Marissa Goggles, both seniors. More depth and strength are added to this already-stellar team with Aloysia C'Bearing, Paula Redman, and Tiara Crawford. "With a couple of transfer players and talented freshmen, the Lady Chiefs will be a strong team with much depth and experience." |
