There are several schools in the area who will be facing the 2005-2996 basketball season. The Worland Lady Warriors is one of these teams. "We are a young team that continues to get better with each practice," says head coach Mike Mortimer. This is his second year coaching the Lady Warriors, and he hopes to make it better than his first year. They finished last year with a 3-19 record for 2004-2005. "[We] look to improve upon our record from [last year]," Coach Mortimer confirms. The girls have taken their collective destiny into their own hands, setting a goal to be one of the top four teams in the West, and win at least on game at state this season. The Lady Warriors are welcoming back several letter-winners who can help them along with this goal.

"The strong teams in the West 3A are Lander, Star Valley, and Mountain View," Coach Mortimer says of his team's conference. "Wheatland, Douglas, and Glenrock look solid on the other side [of the state]," he adds.
