St. Stephens'
girls basketball coach has an optimistic outlook for the Lady Eagles.
He is pleased with the talent his players are showing so far this
year. "I think we'll go alright," he comments. A winning
season would really turn around the program for the Lady Eagles,
who have not been on the radar for several years now.
Returning players
for the Lady Eagles are point guard Odetta Oldman, Rosie Littleshield,
and Javonn Blanch. These three girls share the responsibility of leading this
young team. Odetta Olman is the top scorer for the squad, and has emerged as
a leader among her teammates. Rosie Littleshield, says Coach Chuck Wells, "is
turning into a pretty good inside player." And, Javonn Blanch "is
a true shooter," he says. With talent like this to draw on, the Lady Eagles
may, indeed, has reason to be optimistic. "If we can stay healthy and
eligible, we could have a pretty good team come regionals," predicts Coach
Wells.
"Watch Burlinton," Wells begins his list of top competitors for the
2005-2006 season. He also has his eye on Farson and Cokeville, as do many coaches.. |
