The St.
Stephens Eagles are going to be "a little smaller" this
year, according to head coach Tony Selph. Don't count them out, though.
With smaller players comes an increase in speed, and that is what
Coach Selph is anticipating this season. "We should have a lot
of quickness," he asserts. He feels this will help make his
team a tough one to beat.
Besides speed, the Eagles also have some
experiences players they can rely on to help them throughout the
season. "We have five players returning [who]
played a lot of minutes last year," Coach Selph reveals, "[and] we
also have JV players that I expect to contribute this year." The Eagles
are welcoming back two starters this season, eight letter winners, and All-State
selection Darryn Davis.
Of the competition this season, Tony Selph has the
following to say: "I
expect Burlington to be one of the toughest teams in to state as well as our
conference." He adds, "Ten Sleep and Meeteetsee are always tough.
I think Cokeville will be a quality team [as well] this year."
The St. Stephens Eagles had a 17-11 season last year. This is Tony Selph's
third year coaching. |
