The Lady Cougars of Pavillion finished the 2004-2005 season with a 21-7 record (tying Lovell with a 7-1 conference record), finishing third in Western Regionals and taking Consolation Champions at State competition. Following that season with one to match or surpass it may be a struggle for this somewhat inexperienced squad, however.

Though several players are returning this year, only two starters are among the bunch; they are All-Conference selection senior Megan Arrington and All-Conference Honorable Mention Kelsie Simmons (a junior this year). These two seasoned ladies will be required to step up and lead their less-experienced team mates. Other returning players include senior Shila Kazee, junior Jessica Garland, junior Jessica Garland, junior Shealyn Wells, junior Sheryll Sturgill, and sophomore Catelyn Taft. There is some depth to this team, and if they can overcome their relative inexperience on the varsity level and come together as a team, they could be looking at another good season. "Our team's strength is our ability to work hard every night as a team," says Jeff Motisi, who is in his fourth year as head coach of the Lady Cougars.

Wyoming Indian tops Coach Motisi's list of teams to watch in the conference. Facing this strong, deep team of determined players would test the metal of any team, but will be especially intimidating for Wind River, who is new to the conference this year. It will be critical that these girls show a strong team effort. "Our success depends greatly on our ability to come together as a whole team throughout the entire season," confirms Motisi. He predicts that his players are up to the challenge: "With gaining experience throughout the season and the players' work ethic, we will look to improve every game." Coach Motisi also predicts Lyman as having a great team this year, as well as Tongue River, Big Piney, Lusk, Pine Bluffs, Saratoga, and Big Horn.
