Don’t discount Wind River High School in little Pavillion, Wyoming. With some big returning starters in All-Conference pick Junior Casey Albright (6'2") and Senior Brian Hankins (6'4"), this could shape up to be a pretty good year for the Cougars. In fact, head coach Tyler Jordan feels that , as long as his team can avoid injuries, “I look for us to be in the thick of things in our Region.” Also returning to play this year are Chance Nicholls (a six-foot Junior), Dahl Nicholls, Lethanial Peahrora, and Zane Bell (all sophomores). Coach Jordan is also looking forward to having Jared Morrow (a 6’4” Junior) and Bradlee Wadda (a 6’1” Senior) putting in some time on the court this year.

The biggest news coming from the Cougars squad is the switch to the Southwestern Conference from the Northwest. "It's not any tougher than in the Northwest of last year," says John Gabrielson of WyoPreps.com and KTAK Radio, "but certainly not any easier for them." Coach Jordan agrees. "This could prove tough," he admits. “Lyman [is] the team to beat in the state.” Jordan also has his eye on Wyoming Indian, which, he predicts, “will be better and more consistent” than ever before. Saratoga, too, will be a challenge to look forward to. “Saratoga will be the sleeper, with a lot of kids returning.” Coach Jordan thinks Greenwood, who plays at Big Piney would be a good player to watch in the conference this season.

The trick to meeting these challenges will be coming together as a team. “The sooner we can gel and figure out the offense, the more success we will have,” Coach Jordan predicts. When looking at the upcoming season, he feels that his team “should get some good experience and see the other side of the state in [the] preseason Upton Tournament.”
