The Lander Tigers are looking at some of the strongest returning numbers in the conference. Led by All-Conference and All-State Trevor Ragan and returning starter Lee Irvine, a group of letter-winners including Vince Lucas, Travis Winger, Jake Muth, Brody Knell, Pat Jarvis, Charlie Enos, and Jordan Abeyta, hope to finish out the season strong after a 20-7 record last season. Head coach George Schamber acknowledges that his team is a “good crop” of players, and is excited to see how they fair against other teams in the conference, which he feels will be “better all around.”

Coach Schamber’s picks for teams to watch in the 3A
West are:

Star Valley (a popular pick among coaches this year; keep your eye on them), Kemmerer, Mountain View, and the new-comer Pinedale. All these teams, says Schamber, will be “better and more experienced.” He also sees Powell as a much-improved team over last year. In the East, Coach Schamber has his eye on Buffalo and the reigning champs Douglas, who should be “head and shoulders above the rest,” he asserts, “and better than last year.”
The fighting Tigers will have plenty of hard play against the tough players around the state.

Schamber lists the following has his players to watch this season:

From Buffalo: Matt Lakin, Prosinski, Kyle Cummings, Josh Smith, and Clayton Kirvin. From Douglas: Blake Richendifer, Pat Phipps, and Tate Anderson. Don't forget Ross Loavato from Rawlins and Matt McLaughlin from Thermopolis. From Torrington: Hadley Rowen, Britt Marsh, and Caleb Moore. From Wheatland: Nate Hellbaum, Craig Koger, Taylor Shepard, and Jon Daly. From Jackson: James Hayden and Sam Hayden. Luke Tyrell, Geoff Tyrell, and Chris Lamborn are on Coach Schamber's watch list, as are Frank Micheli and Kyle Bullinger of Mountain View. From the strong Powell team: Nate Winninger, Nathan Danforth, Brad Brinkerhoff, and Steve Rogers. And last but not least, Andy McKen and Tennyson Draney from Star Valley.
